The kids all went outside for about 10 minutes today. I couldn't hold them off any longer. Katelyn dressed and redressed everyone about 3 different times today with high hopes of going out to make snow angels. She was the first one to say, "Can we come in?" Here are a few pictures of their brief, but enjoyable time in the snow (or should I say blizzard?). I just talked to Joe on the phone and he is stuck in his parking lot at work. I have tried all day to convince him to come home before it gets too bad up here, but he didn't. :-)

My Boys
I took these pictures of the boys today. I reduced the saturation in some of them to give them an old feel, so if they look different that was intentional. We borrowed the jacket and hat for Hayden from a client of mine. This is the outfit that Carson will wear for Thanksgiving.

The funny things they say!
Last night Carson and Ainsley were spitting at each other at the dinner table. We told them to stop and they didn't. Joe went to get the spanker and meanwhile I talked to them about what they were doing. I asked them if they knew what the mean soldiers did to Jesus when he was hanging on the cross. Ainsley's eyes got really big and she exclaimed. "What?!" I said that they spit on him while he was hanging there. She asked, "Did they get a spankin'?" Joe said, "Angels came down from Heaven and...." Ainsley interrupted and asked, "What did I do?" You see she was an angel for Halloween and her Nana tells her all the time that she is an angel, so when Joe said that she thought he was talking about her.
Today our dog Sarge died. We had him for about 6 years, and he was about 14 years old. It's pretty sad, but we are happy for him because he was really old and suffering. I gathered all the kids after Katelyn got home today and told them their dog had died. Here is the conversation that took place...
Katelyn: What happened!? Can we get a puppy now?
Ainsley: Did someone spit on him?
Carson: We just all need to pray.... maybe we can bring him back to life.
Katelyn: Can we pleeeease get a puppy?
Ainsley: Where did Sarge go?
Me: He went to Doggie Heaven.
Ainsley (Wide eyed): My friend Nathan's dog went to Doggie Heaven!
Carson: We all need to try to pray so he will come back to life!
Katelyn: Will we ever get another dog?
Me: No never.
Katelyn: NEVER?!!
Me: When you get married and have kids you can get a dog.
Carson: I'm going to marry Katelyn then!
Katelyn: GROSS! You are my brother! I'm not marrying you!
Carson: If you're getting a dog I am marrying you.
Me: Carson, you can't marry your sister.
Carson: Then who can I marry?
Me: Someone your own age that you are not related to.
Carson: Someone 4 like me?
Me: Sure.
Carson: Rilee's 4! That's who I'll marry!
Me: Is Rilee a girl?
Carson: Yes!
Ainsley: Rilee is a boy not a gril (she pronouces it grill it's not a typo!)
In loving memory of Sargent Pepper (Sarge).
You were a good dog and we'll all miss you. Tell Chip and Molly and Molly Mae hey from all of us!

Nana & Pops' House
We made a special surprise trip to Muskogee Friday to visit Nana and try to brighten her day. I think it worked! I decided to take a few pictures of Hayden while we were there because the trees were so beautiful in their neighborhood. He is always on the move, so it's getting harder to get pictures of him without a blur, but I managed to get a few. I love these because they are taken in the area I grew up. It's surreal to see my baby boy running down the same street I used to run down as a young girl.
